Product Description
A simple walk through Washington, D.C. began a profound journey of personal discovery and renewal for Newt Gingrich, one of America's most influential politicians and commentators. At theNational Archives, the immortal words from the Declaration of Independence that we "are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights," jumped off the page and into his heart with the simple truth that from day one in our country's history, the Author of freedom was not the state nor even the Founding Fathers. Our basic human rights and freedoms were-and are-"Creator-endowed." Gingrich sounds a clarion call for us to recognize that the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness that we hold so dear are inseparable from a sincere and humble acknowledgement that these gifts are only the Creator's to give. As a bonus, the book includes a "walking tour" of Washington, D.C.

Great History Teacher!! August 26, 2008 We really are impressed with this tour thru History! Bought it so our grandchildren would always be able to hear truth as our educational systems are changing true history!
Gingrich admits to some mighty sins, but he's all about God and Faith and stuff August 24, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Even though Gingrich has been married three times, is known to have delivered divorce papers to his first wife when she was undergoing cancer treatment in the hospital, is reported to have a penchant for oral sex with women other than his wife, was fined $300,000 by the House Ethics Committee in 1997 for making false statements during an investigation and is widely known to have been in a lengthy extramarital affair with Anne Manning, a campaign staffer, during his second marriage while the Clinton impeachment was going on, there is no man who is better suited to advise Americans on how to rediscover God and instructing us about the role of faith in our nation's history.
An Awesome Book August 23, 2008 I learned a lot from this book. I appreciate Newt Gingrich writing this book. Maybe if more read this book they would realize the need for God in America.
Highly recommend to teachers, professors & mbrs of the media August 19, 2008 A short and concise read. Well worth the few hours. The format provides a good basis for the theme/proof of the book.
Great Book, Great Author August 14, 2008 I loved this book by Newt Gingrich. He is so well informed and wonderfully conservative. I read the book in 2 days. It made me want to go to Washington DC and see and read all the fabulous monuments with all the references to God. One of these days, I will do just that. Thanks Newt, keep up the good work
