horrendously biased December 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am an American female born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (and yes, I lived in the culture, not sheltered by some 'American compound'). I was appalled that this book claims to "help you to deal confidently with unfamiliar situations abroad". It is uncertain if the author has ever even BEEN in Saudi Arabia. From what I read--I couldn't bear to read the whole thing--there is one biased and heavily opinionated statement after another. I certainly do not recommend this book. Save your money, do some more research and buy a book that has even an ounce of credibility. It certainly is ironic that an author attesting to portraying the cultures and lifestyles of other countries seems so closed-minded to other ways of life.
