breaking the curfew January 3, 2004 This book was an unexpected surprise for me; it is a little known gem. Brilliantly and beautifully written, an absolute pleasure to read. The cover was unpromising, but once opened, it is hard to put down. Duncans detailed analysis, and strong imagery provides for a highly readable text, where the happenings of a complex country and its people are presented in a style that is informative and engaging. This is one of my favorite books on Pakistan, and I would highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in knowing more about this region.
