Book Description
Bed and Breakfast Inns in Central America? Absolutely! The secret to making your memorable vacation un unforgettable journey lies within these pages.

Incredible Inns of Central America is a break-through for travelers who enjoy charming hospitality. Spanning the heart of the region, (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua) this book is the first comprehensive collection to showcase intimate and delightful small inns of the bed and breakfast tradition, some of which date back over 200 years.

Each listing is written in a personable style, with lively descriptions, interesting anecdotes, photographs, and complete contact information, providing a simple and enjoyable method to enhance the quality of your trip. In many cases, you will find the same services and amenities available at name-brand hotels but, by choosing to stay at a B&B inn, you will also receive a treasured memory.

Whether you prefer a Spanish-colonial home, a seaside cottage, or a converted home in the capital, Incredible Inns of Central America is the easiest way to enrich an already incredible adventure.

(And for those of you who don't speak Spanish, every place stated having an innkeeper or manager who speaks English; a few even speak German or French!)

5 out of 5 stars Great resource   March 16, 2001

From Planeta Journal - This is the first comprehensive collection to the region's small inns which offer lodging in the "Bed and Breakfast" tradition. Brilliantly executed, the book showcases accommodations in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua which offer something distinctly different from traditional hotels. While Central America may not be home to a thriving "B&B Culture," it does have quite a few unique inns. Author Shimke describes the best, providing information on amenities, services, location and the time it took to receive a response via email! Black and white photos compliment the text. Highly recommended!
