Unique, crazy at times and a great read May 11, 2007 3 out of 15 found this review helpful
A very different book but right on with his principles and outlook on life. He offers great stories and a great plan for accomplishing what you will in life. He challenges the status quo that's for sure and I really liked the book. I thought it trailed off a bit in the end that's why I gave it a four and not a five but well worth the time and money. Really makes you think.
Practical steps for creating a life that you want May 11, 2007 2 out of 14 found this review helpful
I have had a taste of the mini-retirments and adventures that Tim speaks of in his book, but what I haven't had before is a way to sustain that as a permanent lifestyle. Tim's book gives me that.
Tim's book is an excellent tool for how to life and finance your life on your terms with PRACTICAL steps and easy to follow guidelines. If you think that 9-5 or 8-6 or 7-7 is all that is out there for you, this book is a slap in the face to make you think again. It isn't about getting rich, its about doing all the things you would if you were rich. What is better, a $1M in the bank or living as you imagine a millionare lives?
Some of it may be new, some of it you may already know, but there are a lot of gems of information in this book worth well more than the purchase price and the cost of your time to read it.
Oh yes, don't recommend it to your boss. :)
Frustration Defined May 10, 2007 4 out of 12 found this review helpful
In The Four Hour Work Week, Tim Ferris has captured the essence of what many free thinkers feel, "there must be more to life than 9 to 5", and has laid out a solid plan for redemption. As somebody who has always challenged the status quo and recognized that the typical path would not lead to personal happiness, I knew there had to be a different way. Mr Ferriss validates my suspicion. Many of us out there may have already implemented parts of Tim's philosophy but The Four Work Week let's you see the full picture and identifies common pitfalls.
This is no nonsense approach to getting where you want to be.
Changed my whole outlook May 10, 2007 4 out of 12 found this review helpful
I work at a good IT job, make good money and absolutely hate my job. This book literally made me do a 180 on my life and I could not be happier. After reading this book I finally got inspired to start my own business and get away from this job that insist on me just watching my life pass by.
Personal and Productive May 9, 2007 4 out of 14 found this review helpful
I was amazed at this book, and its ability to help me carve out a new life for myself.
Even better, when I had questions, I sent them to the author, and he personally answered them, helping me achieve my goals even faster.
