Great way to keep your travel plans and keepsakes all together. January 18, 2008 We are getting ready to go to WDW along with my parents and my 2 oldest nieces. I was in charge of all the plans - picking the resort, finding the best deal, choosing the package, making dinner reservations, etc. This book has been a great tool. I have the reservation confirmations in the slot for "our trip" details. I have our dinner reservations and show times filled in on each day, along with the confirmation numbers for the dinner reservations. There is a folder for each day where you can insert keepsakes, write your schedule for the day, and at the end of the day write down any special memories of that day. Plus there are details on each resort and each park, including park maps and a list of attractions so you can make sure you hit everything you want to see while you are there. This will be a great tool on our vacation and a great keepsake when we get home. I definitely plan to use it on our next Disney trip as well.

I love this book. It is so detailed and gives so much information. The cover is durable and the spiral binding works well while using. I'm sure it will withstand all of the handling it will receive now and on our trip to Disney. Filled with very helpful information, tips, maps, meal prices, ticket prices, and more and more details.
Everyone needs this book before going to WDW January 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this book to be very informative and up to date on all the changes going on at Walt Disney World and would highly recommend ordering one before planning a trip to Orlando!
PassPorter 2008: Buy Early in Planning your Trip / The WDW guide we used most January 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We recently returned from a trip to the "World" and per usual habits, packed almost as many travel books as clothes. On our "do over" we could have done with this one, perhaps one competing view and, finally, but indispensably a PassPorter sister book "The PassPorter Open Mouse" PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line: Easy Access Vacations for Travelers with Extra Challenges (PassPorter)
As the primary "Guide Book Packer and Reader" for the family, here are my reasons for recommending the PassPorter WDW 2008: 1)Sections and information are well organized, easily accessed and clearly identified. This is a "must" in a WDW guidebook as you will likely be juggling the guidebook with a child/children, a water bottle, a spouse/partner/friend, a balloon..Etc ..(you get the idea...)
2)The length and depth of the sections of information are "Goldilocks Length"...Not too long, not too short, but just right! Seriously, and more specifically, the authors get to the point up front in each well marked section, give you the information you need and then expand on the information for further reading when and if you have the time. ****(See notes on reading this guidebook ahead of your trip, below)
3) The "keeper pockets" actually DO come in handy. When I bought this book I had no interest in the handy little "keepsake" pockets...the authors suggest storing receipts, mementos, etc, in these. I thought that we would never use these...but it turns out we did. Of course not for the all important (your vacation is down the drain without these...lock them away!) entry cards...but other items (FastPasses that somehow came home and weren't used....a few receipts...a few "doodads"). When I looked in the pockets when we came home I even found that my husband had stored a few things in them..keeping stuff for him is almost unheard of! If you are into scrapbooking (real paper or electronic) you can come home with some neat things to include (scan the items for computer based scrapbooking...)
4) This "mainstream" PassPorter does include a few helpful things for the WDW "guest" with special needs. However for you (us!)..I'd definitely recommend the sister book "Open Mouse" (see link above). And remember, the authors define special needs extremely broadly...so it's likely many visitors will find the "Open Mouse" helpful. Topics include visitor needs do to both physical and emotional differences as well as differences in thinking or cognitive processes...decreased agility, physical "disability", easily fatigued, diabetes, pregnancy and fertility, ADD/ADHD, sun-sensitivity, autism-spectrum disorders, etc.
Now, to my few "wishes" or things that I wish that the authors had done differently or that I would change (had I managed to get that magic wand Tinkerbelle insists on hoarding!):
1)Although I do believe that the authors are independent of Disney and they state that they are...I sometimes felt that I was reading the "Disney line" in the book. I'm going to give the authors the benefit of the doubt and ascribe this to "accidental" mimicry. But I do wish that the authors were a bit less careful with their opinions and gave a bit more of the "inside scoop". That said, some guides I read seemed to be so much of an "outside" perspective that some misstated information and included basic "facts" that were wrong. 2) The book is most helpful for first time visitors and/or visitors very early in the planning of their Disney World vacation. I suppose I could have torn out the sections about accommodations that we weren't going to use once we were there...but if you are like me you can't stand to "rip up" a book. Actually the fact that the book is most valuable early in the vacation planning process reflects more on the realistic aspects about a vacation to the "World" and not on the author's choice of what to include. The real deal is that the WDW vacationer gets the most out of planning their trip as far in advance as possible. Then, this guides information about accommodations, meal plans, etc. will be most valuable. Plus the visitor will likely find the best deals, most options open to them, etc, the earlier they make their "reservations". ***Plus, if you don't want to disappoint your little Princesses or Princes or even yourself or your other adult group members, you will need to make some "reservations" for the most sought after Disney dining or other types of experiences (Hint: Disney "Princess" Breakfasts in the "Castle") exactly 180 days in advance of your stay...the very first minute you are able to do so with a confirmed Disney reservation.--- ..but, you can read all about that in this guide. >>Get it as soon as you as even thinking about visiting WDW and please don't wait for the 2009 copy if you are planning later in 2008..you need it when you are planning!
Best of the WDW travel guides! December 29, 2007 I've been purchasing new Passporters for each trip since 2001, and each new edition gets better and better! Love all the details on each resort, park, attraction and restaurant. The best source for current information, and readers can access the most recent updates on their website. Plus the pockets in the back are extremely handy for keeping track of receipts, small keepsakes, etc.
I have owned the spiral version and usually just buy updates for my Deluxe binder. It's my favorite.
This is my Disney World Bible! I keep all of my important travel documents in it and love to read it daily.
