5 out of 5 stars My Favorite Christmas Gift Ever!   January 3, 2002
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

I requested this book as a Christmas gift because, starting with the cover, it resonated with me like no other book of it's type (if there is one!). I've had an interest in this part of the world and a compassion for the people of this region for many years, so it was easy to recognize that Mr. Chapman's work was quite simply a labor of love, and it shows in every page and every word.

Give this heart-grasping gift to someone who appreciates the essence of true peace and joy, for that is exemplified in this beautiful celebration of the Tibetan people. Thank you, Thank you, William R. Chapman!

5 out of 5 stars Breathtaking Images   October 23, 2001

This book has the ultimate beauty of Tibet captured through the lens of Mr. Chapman. Many photographs in this book are taken with a dimenision and scope I have not witnessed in other books on this region. If you truly want an intimate view of the lives of these mysterious people, experience this book. Mr. Chapman has captured the very heart and spirit of Tibet in the photographs and text.....Galen Rowell move aside...this new guy in town shows a perspective of the Himalayan Region never captured before.
