Good Overview of the Parks January 23, 2007 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book is a great overview of all the National Parks. It provides maps, descriptions, hours, lodging, and excursion information. I have taken it to three of the parks already this year - it even got us through Death Valley!!
national geographic guide to national parks of United States January 19, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book was helpful when we traveled in Tennessee over Christmas. It gave information needed to view the highest point and was user friendly.
Useful Introduction to the parks January 19, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The National Geographic Guide to the National Parks of the United States provides a basic and useful introduction to the parks. The maps, photographs, descriptions, and information about the area surrounding each park have helped us launch many memorable explorations. Suggestions regarding activities in each park are framed with consideration for both the automobile tourist and the hiker. The two copies of the Guide I recently purchased were for our niece and nephew who are just starting to travel with their young families.
This book is a very good National Park planner January 18, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This guide is a must have when planning to visit any National Park. It provides "must see places" as well as popular hiking trials. Important information such as directions, when to visit, how to visit, places to stay, and descriptions are very well written.
